The Superman I Loved

Back before the DCU movies, I used to really like Superman. He was a guy who was comfortable in his own tights, and knew not only who he was but what he needed to do. He understood that his
powers and fame imposed a sort of 'noblesse oblige' on him, an 'obligation surhumaine' if you will.

This vintage poster sums up everything that was right about the character in the past -- and what the people to whom his legacy has been entrusted don't understand at all.

Anyway, that's the Superman I loved. Confident enough to wear his red panties on the outside. Strong enough to hold core values on the inside.

'Nuff said.

  1. Too many creators today don't seem to understand the classic characters they work on. That's probably why they get rebooted so often with each new writer.
