When I Think Of Christmas, I Think Of The Shadow!

The younger among you may not know this, but there was a time when AM radio was more than a bully pulpit for pill-popping right wing political commentators. In its pre-TV glory days, radio presented a dazzling an array of entertainment, including game shows, talk shows, soap operas, cop shows, comedies and even superheroic adventure programs like Flash Gordon, Superman, Captain Midnight, The Avenger, The Green Hornet and The Shadow!

Wearing a slouch hat and a swirling black cloak, the crime fighting Shadow posssessed the power, apparently shared by Megan Fox, to
"Cloud Men's Minds". However, unlike Ms. Fox, this abilitiy rendered The Shadow invisible to the eyes of men for 21 seasons of his radio series. Now that's an extremely long run for any entertainment program, and that's where the oddity we're going to share today comes in. Though it's no Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, The Shadow had his very own Christmas Special!

Even better, you can hear it and 22 other Christmas specials featuring Jack Benny, Bob Hope, The Great Gildersleave, Burns and Allen, Jimmy Stewart, and too many others to name by going here:

Just right click on the show links and "save as" and you can keep these treasures to share for years to come.
